Customs legislation in Colombia includes the figure of a voluntary abandonment of imported goods that have not been nationalized; in that case the holder of the property must give written notice to the customs authority of its decision to abandon part or whole merchandise. However, the customs authority has the power to accept or reject the voluntary abandonment.
